In accordance with its articles of association, Kraks Fond can

  • Assist and support individuals, institutions or enterprises that – regardless of whether they are domiciled in Denmark or abroad – via their activities, as assessed by the board of directors, work towards the benefit of Danish commerce and industry;
  • Provide support to the widows of doctors who are in financial distress;
  • Maintain the burial sites of Ove Krak and his spouse in good condition, and
  • Provide support to the relatives of Ove Krak and Mrs Else Krak or to individuals who were close to the above-mentioned while they lived and to previous employees of Kraks Forlag A/S (CVR No. 10629241) or their widows.

In addition, the foundation’s profits can be used by the board of directors for various purposes beneficial to the community.

The board of directors of Kraks Fond decides on distributions once per year

It is possible to send applications to the foundation annually in the period 1 February – 7 March, both dates inclusive. Applications that are received outside of this time frame are unlikely to be processed.

How to apply

In order to apply to Kraks Fond for support, the applicant must use the online application platform, OnlineLegat, where a NemID login is required to gain access. Applications are only processed if they are received through OnlineLegat and a thereby confirmed sender.

It is the applicant’s own responsibility to ensure that the information provided by the applicant, including the information that has been uploaded to OnlineLegat together with all relevant annexes, are truthful, correct and complete.

When creating an application on OnlineLegat, it is at any time possible to save the application, log out, and log in, to finish the application at a later stage when the application is due to be send to Kraks Fond.

Kraks Fond can require additional information and set additional terms and conditions for the support if relevant. This may encompass the submission of additional information, documentation, ongoing reporting and/or a final report being prepared for the process and the status of the activity or purpose that the support was provided for, and accounting for how the received funds were used.

Project applications

To apply for support to project applications where support is being sought for individuals, institutions or endeavors that, by their nature, promote the best interests of Danish commerce and industry, or when applying for support for socially beneficial purposes, the applicant must select one of the following purposes on OnlineLegat: “Danish commerce and industry” or “Socially beneficial purposes”. For these purposes the applicant is required to provide the CPR-number (The Danish Personal Identification number), if the applicant is a physical person, or the company’s, organisation’s or association’s CVR-number, if the applicant is a juristic person or entity.

Documentation requirements when applying for the purposes “Danish commerce and industry” or “Socially beneficial purposes”:

  • Project description
  • The purpose of the project
  • Budget
  • Financing plan

Applications for individuals

In the cases where the application concerns support for widows of doctors in financial distress, support for relatives of Ove Krak and Mrs. Else Krak, or for previous employees of Kraks Forlag A/S or their widows, the purposes “Widows of doctors in financial distress”, “Apply as a relative” or “Apply as a previous employee or widow hereof” must be used when applying for support through OnlineLegat.

A widow of a doctor is a woman who has been married to a now deceased doctor, and who has not subsequently been remarried. Previous employees are employees who can document that they have been employed by Kraks Forlag A/S, CVR-no. 10629241; for example, by providing documentation that Kraks Forlag A/S has paid contributions to the Danish labour market supplementary pension fund (ATP) for the individual in question. A widow of a former employee of Kraks Forlag A/S is a woman who has been married to a now deceased employee of Kraks Forlag A/S, and who has not subsequently been remarried.

Documentation requirements when applying for support as a widow of a doctor in financial distress.

  • Documentation of status as a widow of a doctor
  • Latest annual statement from Tax Authorities (Årsopgørelse)

Documentation requirements when applying for support as a relative of Ove Krak and Mrs. Else Krak or as an individual who has been close to Ove Krak and Mrs. Else Krak during their lifetime:

  • Birth certificate or baptism certificate
  • Documentation of status as a relative of Ove Krak or Mrs. Else Krak
  • Latest annual statement from Tax Authorities (Årsopgørelse)

Documentation requirements when applying for support as a previous employee of Kraks Forlag A/S or as a widow hereof:

  • Documentation of previous employment at Kraks Forlag A/S
  • Death certificate for previous spouse (if the applicant is a widow of a previous employee of Kraks Forlag A/S)
  • Marriage certificate (documentation of marriage to a previous employee of Kraks Forlag A/S).
  • Latest annual statement from Tax Authorities (Årsopgørelse)

Decision on whether to accept or reject received applications

With respect to the foundation’s articles of association and current legislation, the board of directors of Kraks Fond is free to make its own decisions concerning the applications that have been received, including whether to accept them in whole or in part and, if so, on what conditions and terms, and it is also free to reject the applications.

For received applications there will be a certain processing time, and when logging in to OnlineLegat it is possible to see the status of the application process. Do not contact Kraks Fond for information about the status of the application process. If an application results in support being provided by Kraks Fond, the applicant will be informed about the support, and the terms of the support, including potential requirements, conditions, and details regarding the payout of the support.

Payouts will be made to the registered NemKonto of the applicant.

For the applications that are rejected the applicants will receive a written refusal. The written refusal will not be reasoned.

Reporting to public authorities, publication and tax consequences

If an application results in support being provided by Kraks Fond, Kraks Fond will report such to the relevant public authorities, including the Danish Business Authority and the tax authorities in accordance with the rules governing such reporting at any given time.

The support that the foundation has granted may also be published by mention of the recipient of the funds, and the distributed amount in the foundation’s list of grants or via other sources.

The tax consequences for the applicant from receiving such potential support from Kraks Fond is not the foundation’s concern.

Processing of personal data

During the application process Kraks Fond can collect and otherwise process the personal data. The processing of personal data will happen in compliance with the conditions of Kraks Fond’s personal data policy.
